Diese Ausgabe von “Aus der Bibliothekswissenschaft” beschäftigt sich nur mit einem Thema, nämlich dem Einsatz von Sozialarbeiter*innen in Öffentlichen Bibliotheken. Hauptfokus ist eine Schwerpunktausgabe des Journal of the Australian Library and Information Association zum Thema, die Ende 2023 erschienen ist. Sie wird ergänzt durch weiter Literatur. Allerdings stammt diese alle aus den englischsprachigen Ländern des globalen Nordens (bis auf einen Text aus Indien). In diesen Ländern scheint das Thema und auch der konkrete Einsatz von Sozialarbeiter*innen in den letzten Jahren massiv zugenommen haben. Hier gebe ich einen Überblick dazu.
